What you should know:

Arlo is one of the hottest new names in the home security market. Known for its state-of-the-art equipment and clever designs, it stands out effortlessly in the rapidly changing marketplace. Let’s see what all the buzz is about.

PROS:

Easy Installation

Yeah, we know what you’re thinking. Every time a home security company says that installation is so easy that you can do it yourself, it ends up being difficult and challenging. Well, not this time. With cameras that run on batteries, its wireless setup allows you to position them wherever you want while skipping the wiring and drilling. Trust us – setting up Arlo will be simple.

Excellent Quality Video

Few things are more annoying that being excited about installing cameras in and around your home only to realize the video is blurry. With Arlo, you won’t have this problem. Its HD quality video and night vision cameras lets you see clearly and gives you the peace of mind around the clock.

Weather Resistant Cameras

Regardless of whether you have lots of rainy days in Florida or you’re dealing with snowstorms in New York, having weather resistant cameras makes home security that much easier. With Arlo, all of the equipment is designed to withstand all of the elements that Mother Nature throws its way. This is the kind of secure protection you need year round.

CONS:

Not So Cheap

With so many competitors out there, the $530 price tag for the complete Arlo home security camera system seems a tad bit high. Sure, the cameras are great and comes with a free app for functionality, but in this day and age, there are many options available for less money.

Poor Battery Life

The new and improved Arlo Pro camera uses CR123a batteries that will last a few months maximum based on how often you use your cameras. While this may not seem like a hassle to some, for others it is not optimal considering some competitors have cameras that require one battery change per year.

Motion Detection Issues

Yes, we admitted that Arlo has amazing camera quality. However, this benefit only comes into play when it is capturing what it’s supposed to. Sometimes there’s a delay with Arlo cameras that doesn’t always capture motion when it should. We advise that you keep your camera software updated to avoid this issue.
